From the warehouse floor to the deal table
Hector grew up in ethnic food distribution. He went on to found a frozen dessert manufacturing and distribution company, source product internationally, run the P&L, build the team — and ultimately scale and sell the business. He knows what it feels like to sit on the seller's side of the table, because he has.
That operating experience is paired with formal training: Hector is a chemical engineer by background, taught economics as a university professor, and has held senior finance leadership roles analyzing businesses, reconciling financials, and preparing companies for diligence. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Why Origen?
Origen means "origin" in Spanish and Portuguese. It is a nod to where we come from and who we serve: the multicultural founders who built America's ethnic food supply chain from the ground up — the importers, distributors, producers, grocers and restaurateurs who feed their communities.
Many of those founders are now approaching the next chapter. Too often, they are served by generalist brokers who don't understand a PACA license, a seasonal working capital cycle, or a customer base that orders in Spanish. Origen exists to close that gap.
